Fallout New Vegas DLC: Dead Money

Post by Ddixav on Wed Dec 22, 2010 12:28 am

I realized that the DLC came out today, so I downloaded it.

I played it and I found it really interesting. Compared to The Pitt DLC in Fallout 3, Dead Money seems more spooky than The Pitt.

I will try my best not to give out spoilers, other than that, I will just say the unimportant spoilers.

In Dead Money, you are taken captive when you reach a certain location in the Mojave Wasteland (Where you trigger the DLC), and after that, "something" happens to you, I won't spoil, even though I am quite unintentionally good at it. Razz

Now the things I quite find a bit "scary" is when you meet a non-hostile mutant named Dog.

Dog is a mutant in the DLC that you meet when you are ordered to find 3 people assigned by an old man in a hologram projection.

Here is my review on my favorite part of the DLC so far, which is meeting with Dog.
I recommend reading this spoiler if you aren't planning on getting the DLC, or getting Fallout New Vegas at all. Or if you just don't care. Razz

Spoiler:
Dog: He is an insane super mutant. or Night-Kin (can't tell, he's blue but he looks like an average super mutant).

When you walk in a police station, you will see him in a cell sitting on the floor in a pitch black room with one light bulb lit above him. You will see him as "Dog" but to talk to him, you must play a holotape with a certain person's voice, and that will trigger a talk with him, however his name will change to "God".

Apparently, he has another mind or person inside of him. This other mind of him is named "God". Weird eh? Here comes an interesting part. Dog is a simple minded mutant that is always hungry and talks like how every super mutant talks (Like a caveman or something)

To talk to "God", that is inside of Dog's body, you must play a holotape containing a certain person's voice, and "God" will take over Dog's body.

A weird thing is, God talks really intelligent, and his words are "absolute" while Dog talks like a normal super mutant, as I already said above. Razz

Hmm, sounds interesting. I hope they release a "game of the year" edition of New Vegas that includes all the DLC like they did with Fallout 3.
